[2026-05-03] Cluster L — Confirmation in Scotland (1 guide)

  • New guide: guides/probate-scotland (the Scottish equivalent of probate: the Sheriff Court routes Confirmation applications, the small-estate vs large-estate split at £36,000 gross, Form C1 as the dual-purpose court/HMRC inventory, the with-will/no-will distinction between executor-nominate and executor-dative, dative petitions for no-will large estates, the bond-of-caution insurance requirement, prior rights and legal rights under the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964, and a side-by-side comparison with the England-and-Wales process).

Per the SCTS guidance, Form C1 is the only confirmation inventory form; the no-will distinction is procedural (the dative petition court step, plus a generally-required bond of caution), not a different form. The guide replaces the C1/C2 split with the small-estate/large-estate routing decision and the with-will/no-will procedural fork. The manuscript's prior rights figures (£473,667/£29,605/£50,000/£89,200) were also off; the schedule to SSI 2011/436 fixes them at the round numbers (£473,000/£29,000/£50,000/£89,000).

  • New hub entity: entities/faith-specific-funerals (concept — the procedural skeleton shared across every UK religious funeral: registration timing across the three jurisdictions, coroner/Procurator Fiscal escalation paths, designated faith sections in council cemeteries, witness charging, repatriation pointer, the burial-vs-cremation split by tradition, the cross-cutting non-faith executor and non-faith attendee guidance). Pulls duplicated procedural content out of the four guides so each guide stays focused on tradition-specific detail.

[2026-04-30] Issue #22 — second batch of recaptures (audit reaches steady state)

  • Recaptured the remaining 6 of 9 flagged captures. Audit moves from 7 → 1 flagged capture and 12 → 2 flagged pages. The single remaining flag is Royal Mail (permanent — royalmail.com bot-blocks automated capture with HTTP 403; manual transcription remains the source of truth).

[2026-04-30] Issue #22 — first batch of recaptures

  • Recaptured 3 of the 9 captures flagged on the first audit cycle: gov-uk/find-a-register-office (URL was live again, original 404 was likely a transient capture failure), saif/home (false positive — SAIF added one nav link, no fact change), gov-uk/statutory-legacy (the manifest URL had been wrong since v1 — /uksi/2023/68/made is a VAT instrument; corrected to /uksi/2023/758/made which is the Administration of Estates Act 1925 (Fixed Net Sum) Order 2023 carrying the £322,000 figure). [2026-04-30] Audit cron landed (v1.5)

  • New: scripts/audit.py, scripts/extractors.yml, sources/manifest.yml, .github/workflows/audit-cron.yml. The cron runs weekly, re-fetches every cited source, and diffs extracted main-content text against the captured snapshot.
  • Sources moved into the repo at sources/ (5.8MB across 11 buckets, 55 cited captures). The full archive remains on Beelink 2 for uncited and seed material.
  • Per-host extractors target main#content, #viewLegContents, article, etc. Diff is whitespace-collapsed text comparison after stripping nav, footer, breadcrumbs, feedback widgets, scripts, and styles. False positives are tolerated; false negatives (missed drift) are the failure mode the cron is designed against.
  • Clean pages → single PR with frontmatter-only date bumps (CLAUDE.md "PR with auto-merge" path; held in manual-review during a ~2-cycle calibration window before automerge is enabled).
  • Flagged pages → tracking issue updated each cycle with diffs.
